Dental Treatment in Istanbul: A Pre-Visit Planning Guide

If you are planning to come to Istanbul for dental treatment, completing the clinical assessment before organising travel makes your visit significantly more efficient.

Dental Treatment in Istanbul: A Pre-Visit Planning Guide

The majority of patients travelling to Istanbul for dental treatment make a common planning mistake in their first contact: they book the hotel and flight first, then search for a clinic. This sequence can cause significant delays and complications.

Clinical assessment first, travel organisation second

Sending your X-rays or photographs to the clinic before your visit clarifies the estimated number of sessions and total duration. Some cases can be completed in 5 days; others require two separate visits.

Questions to clarify with the clinic before booking

  • How many sessions are needed and how long does each session take?
  • Will temporary restorations be fitted, or can the final treatment be completed in one visit?
  • How is pain management handled during treatment?
  • Is transfer support available between the two clinic locations?
  • Is a written treatment plan provided?

Accommodation and logistics

For the Ataköy location, the Bakırköy or Yeşilköy area is a convenient base. For the Vadistanbul location, Maslak, Levent or Sarıyer are good options. The distance between the two locations is approximately 45 minutes.

Allow time before your return flight

Long-haul flights on the same day as implant placement, extractions or surgical procedures are not recommended. Remaining in Istanbul for at least one full day after treatment allows for rest and any necessary follow-up.
